Book Description

Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Vidya Balan, Karan Johar. Each of these celebrities are adored and looked up to by millions who aspire to emulate their success stories. But what is it that separates them, and other Bollywood stars, from the rest? Which is that one defining trait that makes them stand out, and how can you benefit from knowing it?

In this one-of-a-kind book, Priyanka Sinha Jha looks at eleven luminaries from Bollywood, and the attribute that is perhaps most responsible for their success. She details their stories, their struggles, their efforts to overcome setbacks, and what it is about them that made them not just reach the top of their game, but stay there. Be it Amitabh Bachchan’s discipline, Aamir Khan’s perfectionist nature, Salman Khan’s generosity, John Abraham’s enterprise or Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s grace—each star has one unique quality that others can imbibe to reach greater heights in their own lives. With pithy observations and inspirational conversations, Supertraits of Superstars will show you how to live life star-size.

"Supertraits of Superstars could be a guidebook to a lot of youngsters out there who want to reach out for the stars and touch the sky." - John Abraham

My review

Writing an inspirational book is not easy. For any author, if he/she is going to write such, first and foremost, they must have thorough knowledge and experience about the subject at any cost. If that includes inspirational book based upon real life personalities like that of the Bollywood celebrities, need not say about the criticisms when facts mentioned in the book are disagreed by the readers as in reality, most of us are drawn to soft news than the hard news.

In Supertraits of Superstars, the first time author Priyanka Sinha Jha who is a journalist by profession has courageously taken an effort to inspire and motivate the readers by picking good traits from each of the eleven stars mentioned in the book which will be useful for the readers if they put into practice on their real life.

Now what qualities of these film stars make author Priyanka Sinha like them so much than the rest of the celebrities in Bollywood because we all know, they didn't simply rise to fame out of the blue or by mere luck. She herself says, she hasn't mastered these traits yet, but continually she is working on it. I agree with her.

At present, the whole world knows about Amitabh Bachan’s punctuality and discipline, the question is always there where is he going to go with this? Respect,  who doesn't respect him? Shah Rukh Khan’s passion for producing world class films, and prioritize success more than anything , keep money on your head , not on your heart is highly motivating .

Karan Johar’s, what’s harm in trying? attitude justifies the purpose of life. I am slightly disappointed; the author missed some core facts about Kaif besides her movies. She is not only a successful actress; she is also a humanitarian by heart, and is a famous personality at a village located in South India for her good deeds.

Salman Khan's life lesson's learnt from his childhood,

'Help the needy, try to be as correct as possible, bend backwards for other people, arrogance is not good, badtameezi nahee karna, thank you bolna, sorry bolna, repsect dena, don't take bullshit, don't give bullshit'. I won't agree with the last two , and specially, badtameezi Nahee Karna. People who watched a show on star plus would know why.

There are eleven superstars in the book, the superstar is one and only Hrithik Roshan(in my perspective). Just read the below excerpt.

'Everything seems normal till you start talking. The minute you start talking, you get stuck and you don’t know why. Right from your toes to the ends of your hair, [everything] stand. You are in complete shock. Your heart palpitates, you don’t understand and you are aware of people looking at you… can compare it to hell'.

My least favorite in the book(Meaning-I didn't benefit from the traits of these actors)-Aishwarya Rai and Ranbir Kapoor.

Rating 3.5/5
